About KCET
The Karnataka Examinations Authority conducts the Common Entrance Test (UGCET, usually called KCET) for admission to government-quota seats in professional courses in Karnataka, including engineering and technology, pharmacy, farm science, veterinary science, naturopathy and yoga, and B.Sc. Nursing. Medical, dental and AYUSH seats use UGNEET (NEET-UG), and architecture uses NATA. Candidates for those courses still register with KEA. The 2026 test is a pen-and-paper test at centres in Karnataka, with answers shaded on an OMR sheet.
CET-2026 is held on two days in four separate sessions. On 23 April 2026, Physics is 10.30 am to 11.50 am and Chemistry is 2.30 pm to 3.50 pm. On 24 April 2026, Mathematics is 10.30 am to 11.50 am and Biology is 2.30 pm to 3.50 pm. Each session is one subject. A candidate sits the subjects required for the courses chosen: PCM for engineering and technology, PCB for veterinary science, naturopathy and yoga and B.Sc. Nursing, PCMB for farm science, and PCM or PCB for B.Pharm, lateral-entry B.Pharm and Pharm.D.
Each subject paper has 60 multiple-choice questions, four options and one correct answer, for 60 marks. Each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking for a wrong answer. A question with more than one circle shaded is not awarded a mark. There is no choice among questions. The question paper has a version code, which must be shaded on the OMR sheet. In every session the first 10 minutes are for writing and shading the name, CET number, version code and booklet serial number, and the next 70 minutes are for shading answers. The timetable slot for each paper is 80 minutes.
Question papers follow the First and Second PUC syllabi prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka. KEA says subject experts reviewed that PCMB syllabus for CET-2026 and published the syllabus to be used on the KEA website.
For engineering and technology, the rank uses marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the CET and the same three subjects in the qualifying examination, taken in equal proportions. The bulletin prescribes no minimum mark in the CET itself. If two candidates tie, the order uses CET Mathematics, then CET Physics, then the qualifying-examination marks in the subjects used for the rank, then age, the elder candidate first. These practice tests report the raw CET marks out of 180 for PCM only. It does not combine them with board marks and it does not assign a rank.
Biology is a separate paper of the same shape: 60 questions, 60 marks, 80 minutes, one mark each and no negative marking, on the afternoon of the second day. It is required for farm science (with PCM), for veterinary science, naturopathy and yoga and B.Sc. Nursing (with Physics and Chemistry), and it can be the better of PCM and PCB for pharmacy. There is no Biology practice test here.
A Kannada language test, on 22 April 2026 from 10.30 am to 11.30 am, is only for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates who must show they can speak, read and write Kannada. It is at 4th-standard level, out of 50 marks, and the pass mark is 12. It is not part of the PCM or Biology papers. The practice tests on this site are in English only.
