About AP EAPCET
AP EAPCET (formerly AP EAMCET) is the common entrance test for admission to the first year of professional courses in Andhra Pradesh for 2026-27. JNTU Kakinada conducts the 2026 test on behalf of APSCHE. The Engineering (E) stream covers Engineering, Bio-Technology, B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering), B.Tech (Food Science and Technology), B.Pharmacy (M.P.C.) and Pharm.D. The Agriculture and Pharmacy (AP) stream covers B.Sc. (Ag), B.Sc. (Hort), B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.F.Sc., B.Tech (FST), B.Sc. (CA&BM), B.Pharm, B.Tech (Bio-Technology) (Bi.P.C.) and Pharm.D (Bi.P.C.).
The 2026 notification was issued on 3 February 2026. The Engineering test ran from 12 to 15 May and on 18 May 2026, and the Agriculture and Pharmacy test on 19 and 20 May 2026. There were two sessions a day, 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon and 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. A candidate sits only the session on the hall ticket. The question papers differ between sessions, and marks are normalised across sessions.
Each stream's paper has 160 objective questions of one mark each in 3 hours, online only. Every question has four options with one correct answer. There is no negative marking, and nothing is deducted for an unanswered question. The Engineering paper has 80 questions in Mathematics, 40 in Physics and 40 in Chemistry. The Agriculture and Pharmacy paper has 80 in Biology (Botany 40, Zoology 40), 40 in Physics and 40 in Chemistry. The candidate may move between subjects at any time, and one timer shows the time left. Calculators are not allowed.
The question paper is in English and Telugu, shown together on the screen. A candidate who studied the qualifying examination in Urdu medium can get help translating into Urdu, but only at the Kurnool test centre. Where the Telugu version is ambiguous, the English question is final.
To qualify, a candidate needs 25% of the maximum marks considered for ranking. No minimum is set for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates. Ranks combine the normalised AP EAPCET marks at 75% weight with the Intermediate marks in the group subjects at 25% weight. For the Engineering stream, ties are broken by the total AP EAPCET marks, then the marks in Mathematics, then Physics, and if a tie still remains the older candidate is preferred at admission. To sit the test, candidates must meet the Andhra Pradesh local or non-local status rules for 2026-27 and need at least 45% (40% for reserved categories) in the specified subjects of the qualifying examination. The registration fee for 2026 was ₹800 for the open category, ₹750 for BC and ₹700 for SC/ST candidates.
